Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose of the Role
Technician is responsible for the safe and correct assembly and testing of company products and qualification testing of new developments. Technician is responsible for the day-to-day HSE in the Flintstone facility.
Roles and Responsibilities- Assist in preparation of test and assembly procedures
- Stage components and tooling required for assembly and test
- Maintenance of workshop equipment as directed by Project Engineer/Operations Manager
- Ensure workshop is clean and tidy at all times and free from trip and slip hazards as far as practical
- Procurement of Facility consumables and organization of onsite contractors
- Offload, book in and store parts and equipment received
- Manual Handling
- Use of trolley, forklifts, cranes
- Dimensional Control
- Assembly of equipment for test
- Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Low voltage (12/24v) electrical works
- Testing of pressurised and load bearing systems
- Hydraulic, and pneumatic testing from 0 – 10,000 psi
- Application of loads via hydraulic cylinders
- Recording of results and reporting of observations and faults
- Calibration of instrumentation
- Compliance with internal integrated management system
- As per competency matrix
- Day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the Flintstone facility and equipment
- Including but not restricted to LOLER, and PUWER
- Minimum - HNC in an Engineering Discipline
- Minimum 3 Years experience in a similar role.
- All training for specific in-house jobs will be provided.
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point
- Outlook, including electronic calendar
- Excellent Communication/Interpersonal Skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow instructions and work on own initiative.
- Flexibility and adaptability to ensure tasks are prioritised appropriately.
- Honesty, reliability, and discretion are essential as working with confidential matters.
- Follow instructions and use own initiative
- Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work in a small team
