Overview
Your Job:
As an Assembler
, you will build filters and other interconnect products to customer specifications. This role supports production by assembling mechanical and electrical components using detailed work instructions, drawings, and required tools while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and workmanship.
Level One:
- Read and follow work instructions, production drawings, sample assemblies, or verbal instructions
- Position and align parts in jigs or fixtures as required
- Use soldering irons to solder small parts and components
- Solder capacitors, air wounds, printed circuit boards, ceramic resonators, and component leads per work instructions and Build Book requirements
- Use parts cleaners as required
- Assemble parts using small hand tools such as electric or manual screwdrivers
- Perform in‑process inspections to ensure assemblies meet specifications and quality standards
- Complete assigned tasks with a high level of quality within established time frames
Level Two:
- Perform all Level One responsibilities
- Assemble prototypes as assigned
- Assemble complex mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Provide basic troubleshooting for assembly‑related issues
Level One:
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and process instructions
- Ability to use mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread gages, and microscopes
- Ability to obtain and maintain IPC A610‑E and J‑STD certification
- Ability to assemble parts using various solder types with hot plates and soldering irons, with or without microscopes
- Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly
- Ability to use hand tools to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to identify process issues
- Willingness and ability to learn and apply information quickly
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals
- Ability to follow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions
Level Two:
- Ability to perform all Level One functions independently
- Experience training or mentoring Level One Assemblers
- Ability to identify and solve basic production problems
- Demonstrated superior manufacturing workmanship
- Advanced hand‑soldering skills
- Ability to communicate workflow status when required
