We are seeking Nurses, Midwives or Health Visitors to join our established Family Nurse team in NHS Tayside. As a Family Nurse you will deliver the FNP programme and will be expected to be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for this role.
You will need to be resilient with a good understanding of building therapeutic relationships. You will need a good working knowledge of child protection policies and practice, child development, maternal psychology and fundamentally enjoy working with this age group of parent.
You will take a key role in delivering the Family Nurse Partnership programme (FNP) in addition to the Scottish child health surveillance programme to first time young parents on your caseload and providing safe and effective patient centred care across the NHS Tayside geographical area.
Applicants should have significant post registration experience of working with children and/or young people in their homes. Experience of general community nursing and/or midwifery home visiting including the skills to work within the clinical methods of a structured home visiting programme.
Please note:Candidates who are not trained Family Nurses would be expected to complete the mandatory NES FNP Foundation training starting in 7-11 September 2026 (residential). There would be a commitment to attend further NES FNP mandatory training on various dates in the 18 months following Foundation training. Some training would be residential in Glasgow or Edinburgh. There would also be an opportunity to undertake the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing.
