Cardiology specialist nurse/ with advanced practice qualification

Band 7 ( Annex 21 paragraph 2 (i) )Heart Failure Service Full time/Permanent – 36 hours

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our dynamic nursing team within the Cardiology Department within the field of Heart Failure .

The successful candidate will possess advanced clinical knowledge and skills across a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions. As a high-profile, accessible, and responsive clinical leader, you will hold responsibility for a defined group of patients presenting heart failure and be responsible for pathways of care and treatment in collaboration with our Consultant speciality teams

Cardiology is a fast-evolving specialty, continually adapting to meet the changing needs of the Tayside population. As an Specialist Nurse you will make independent, informed decisions regarding patient management, ensuring the highest standards of care in line with local and national guidelines. You will play a key role in meeting departmental and organisational objectives and targets.

You will be embedded within the Cardiology team delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care. Collaboration with the community teams and GP services working to national standards and guidelines for Heart failure

Qualifications and Development

Applicants should hold or be working towards a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Practice. We will provide comprehensive support to help individuals meet advanced practice competencies within the specialty. This will be delivered through a triangulated approach involving academic study, mentorship, and clinical supervision.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Evidence of relevant academic coursework aligned with the advanced practice pathway
  • Extensive cardiology experience within the clinical setting
  • Advanced skills
  • Clinical assessment, non-medical prescribing.
  • Advanced ECG rhythm recognition
  • Applicants should be registered on either Part 1 or Part 12 of the UK NMC Register, with extensive post – registration experience and be able to demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and professional practice preferably within an acute setting.
