Experienced Analytical Chemist – Advanced Mass Spectrometry Join a Growing Analytical Function

We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist with strong, hands‑on expertise in mass spectrometry, particularly triple quadrupole systems, to join our expanding laboratory.

While experience in GMP is advantageous, our priority is to recruit an individual with deep technical capability in LC‑MS/MS and/or GC‑MS/MS, a proven ability to generate high‑quality analytical data, and the motivation to develop GMP proficiency in a regulated environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in developing and advancing our analytical capability, with a strong focus on complex method development using advanced mass spectrometry. Working with challenging matrices such as lipid‑based formulations and botanical extracts, your responsibilities will include:

  • Method development, optimisation, and troubleshooting using LC‑MS/MS and GC‑MS/MS and a range of other analytical instrumentation
  • Working with complex sample types including lipids, oils, and botanical materials
  • Supporting and contributing to method validation activities (ICH guidelines and GMP)
  • Maintaining high standards of analytical quality, robustness, and data integrity

You will also:

  • Act as a technical specialist in mass spectrometry within the lab
  • Troubleshoot analytical and instrumental challenges
  • Support the development of laboratory processes and best practices
  • Build knowledge and capability in GMP requirements and systems over time

This is a hands‑on, technically focused role with real scope to influence and strengthen our analytical capability.

What We’re Looking For
  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with LC‑MS/MS and/or GC‑MS/MS - essential
  • Strong track record of method development, optimisation, and problem‑solving
  • Clear understanding of producing high‑quality, reliable analytical data Experience working with complex matrices (e.g. lipids, oils, botanical extracts)
  • Comfortable working to high analytical and scientific standards
  • Willingness and ability to develop GMP knowledge and practices
  • Experience with in a GMP or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with ICP‑MS or other complementary techniques
  • Understanding of data integrity principles (e.g. ALCOA+)
