Overview of the Role
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving new business growth and managing client relationships across commercial and industrial markets. You will manage the sales process from lead generation through to contract close, working closely with the Sales Manager, wider sales team, engineering, management, and marketing teams to deliver technically sound and commercially compelling solutions. The role is fully remote and based in the United Kingdom.
The Role- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within target commercial and industrial markets.
- Manage lead generation and prospecting through to contract.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, tenders, and presentations in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Conduct market, competitor, and client research to inform sales strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline progress, and client interactions within the CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Manager, wider sales team, marketing, and technical teams to ensure clear and effective communication of services and capabilities.
- Track performance against sales targets and provide regular updates and forecasts to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in a sales, business development, or account management role, ideally within engineering, energy, technical services, or B2B environments.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience using CRM systems and sales tools is highly desirable.
- Confident, professional, and capable of building long-term client relationships.
£40,000–£45,000 per annum depending on experience, with commission payable based on sales performance.
LocationThis role is based in the United Kingdom and carried out fully remotely. Occasional travel within the UK may be required for client meetings, site visits, or industry events.
Candidates must hold current and valid permission to work in the United Kingdom.
