OHL LE2 Linesman – Dundee & North Scotland

Location:

Dundee & North (Monday–Friday)
Duration:
Approx. 6 months starting March 2026 (with potential additional works)

Hours:

10 hours per day, Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the construction, refurbishment, and maintenance of LV and HV overhead line networks up to 33kV

• Install stays, conductors, insulators, and associated OHL equipment, working more independently than LE1

• Follow DNO safety rules, method statements, and risk assessments at all times

• Support safe working practices, including traffic management and site protection

• Carry out groundwork including pole preparation, clearing vegetation, and site organisation

• Assist with mentoring or supporting LE1 Linesmen where required

• Take responsibility for safe and efficient fault response activities

• Use tools, equipment, and PPE correctly, reporting any defects or issues

• Maintain site records and documentation as required

• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth site operations

• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with SHEQ requirements

• Represent the company professionally on client sites and when interacting with the public

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Linesman on overhead line networks

• DNO Authorisations up to and including 33kV – including live working

• Ability to work more independently on LV/HV lines under supervision

• Ability to climb poles and work safely at height

• Good understanding of DNO safe working practices

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team, with some mentoring of LE1s

• Strong practical skills and willingness to learn

• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work outdoors in all conditions

Qualifications & Training:

• City & Guilds 2322 / 2339 / 2304

• Pole Top Rescue

• Manual Handling

• First Aid

• IPAF 1b

• Full UK driving licence
