We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 HGV to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery services. The ideal applicant will possess a strong understanding of road safety regulations and demonstrate excellent driving skills, ensuring timely and secure deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 2 vehicle in accordance with all legal and safety requirements
  • Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods
  • Loading and unloading with care, adhering to proper handling procedures to prevent damage
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
  • Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, both inside and out, throughout the working day
  • Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during every shift
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered on the road

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 2 licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Proven experience in commercial driving
  • Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe transportation of goods
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
  • Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late finishes if necessary

Pay rates include advanced holidays
