Team Overview

The Citi EMEA FI Novation Team supports a wide range of internal stakeholders with significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

A role within Markets Operations means that you will have a truly global reach, in a supportive environment which will provide you with new experiences and development opportunities right here in Belfast’s iconic Titanic Quarter.

The Securities & Derivatives Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team.

• Provide support to a variety of tasks related to the Fixed Income Novations process.
• Handle Business As Usual (BAU) processes and additional ad‑hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders within a complex Markets Operations environment.
• Provide day‑to‑day Novation transactional processing, supporting the EMEA‑based Sales and Trading desks.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how the team collectively integrates to achieve overall business goals.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within the department to resolve issues related to Repo processes.
• Responsible for escalating control gaps and issues to senior management; identify Repo‑related control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses.
• Directly impact the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and formulation of procedures/process improvement.
• Perform detailed analysis of Repo‑related issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, and recommend/take appropriate actions.

• Evidence of ability to perform multiple tasks and work towards deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; articulate and concise.
• Ability to perform a range of tasks/projects and assist with training of other team members in process and systems compliance.
• Comfortable working in a team environment and using own initiative to recommend improvements to existing processes.
• Self‑driven performance and willingness to learn.
• Effective time‑management skills.
• Creative and structured approach to problem solving.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
• Self‑reliant, good problem‑solver, and results‑oriented.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to partner with other teams to provide innovative solutions.
• Relevant experience in an organizational or administrative role is advantageous.
• GCSE English & Maths at Grade C and above.
