Key Responsibilities Collection Fund Management:
Lead the accounting, reconciliation, and distribution of Council Tax and NNDR for both the billing authority and major preceptors. Statutory Returns:
Complete and submit crucial government returns, including NNDR1, NNDR3, and CTR schemes, ensuring full compliance with MHCLG/government guidelines. Financial Forecasting:
Model and forecast business rates retention, safety net thresholds, and levy positions to inform the council's Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP). Year-End Accounting:
Produce the Collection Fund statement and disclosure notes for the annual Statement of Accounts, liaising directly with external auditors. To be considered for the role you will need to be a qualified accountant with previous experience in NNDR and Collection Fund within a Local Government environment. This is an interim role and can be considered on a full time or part time (3 days a week) basis.
The day rate is circa £600 a day.
