About the OpportunityAvenue Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Dunfermline. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role within an established business. The successful candidate will be based in the Dunfermline office full-time, working closely with the wider team while also providing guidance and mentoring to a junior Quantity Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage project valuations.
- Assess and manage variations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce accurate cost reporting and financial forecasts.
- Prepare and administer subcontract orders.
- Review subcontract terms and conditions.
- Monitor project costs, ensuring commercial performance is maintained.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
- Mentor and support the development of a junior Quantity Surveyor.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong experience with:
- Valuations
- Variations
- Cost reporting
- Subcontract orders
- Reviewing subcontract terms and conditions
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a busy commercial team.
- Must be able to work full-time from the Dunfermline office.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Candidates without a degree will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong, relevant industry experience.
