X Personal Assistants SDS​/RM

Role

We are supporting a family in helping to recruit for 2 Personal Assistants to work together to support their 19 year old son to access activities in the community. He requires two to one support when out and about and enjoys walking, eating out, side by side cycling and trampolining.

You will have a positive and flexible approach to work and previous experience of supporting non‑speaking, autistic children or adults, who may display mild challenging behaviour, would be beneficial however not essential as full training on specific communication, understanding and communication aids will be ongoing.

You will be physically fit to be able to provide the level of support needed when undertaking activities and will actively plan time activities out of the home that incorporate his enjoyed activities of eating out, walks, and side by side cycling.

You will also be required to carry out some support with personal care as and when needed.

• To ensure safety and wellbeing when undertaking activities.
• Provision of personal care assistance including changing incontinence products, cleaning, showing and dressing.
• Be engaging and participate when listening to favourite music, playing games and other activity pastimes.
• Assisting with the preparation of drinks, food and snacks.
