A well-established and growing engineering and fabrication company based in Nottingham is looking for an experienced and skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with experience in sheet metal fabrication who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking to develop their career within a professional engineering and fabrication environment.
The RoleAs a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling a range of sheet metal components and fabricated parts to detailed drawings and required specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, form and fabricate sheet metal components.
- Operate sheet metal machinery and fabrication equipment.
- Carry out folding, bending, drilling, cutting and forming operations.
- Assemble and finish fabricated components to a high standard.
- Work with a variety of metals and sheet materials.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required standards.
- Identify and report any issues with materials, dimensions or finished components.
- Work closely with other members of the fabrication and engineering team.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow company health and safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Sheet Metal Fabricator or similar role is essential.
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience working with sheet metal and associated fabrication techniques.
- Good understanding of measurements, tolerances and specifications.
- Experience using hand tools and sheet metal machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- A practical, problem-solving approach.
- Experience with in aerospace, engineering or precision fabrication would be highly advantageous.
