Surgical Assistant, Operating Room Nurse
Position Overview
We are seeking theatre practitioners, either Registered General Nurses (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioners (ODP), to join our team. Experience in scrub, circulating roles and anaesthetics is desirable, but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operative support in day‑surgery/short‑stay theatres across a range of specialties.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Maintain and develop professional knowledge through continuing education.
- Gynaecology
- Urology
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Plastic Surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Oral/Maxillofacial and Breast Surgery
- Registered as an RGN or ODP.
- Experience in scrub, circulating or anaesthesia support is desirable.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme prior to appointment.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Full‑time, Monday to Friday with a variety of shifts over 5 days. Flexible to work across both Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline and Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
