Stock Controller

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Salary: £12.70 - £14.80 per hour (depending on experience) About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Stock Controller to oversee inventory management within a busy distribution environment based in Aylesbury . This role is crucial in ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the smooth operation of the depot. Reporting directly to the Office Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring stock movements, managing purchase orders, and ensuring all goods received and dispatched are recorded accurately.

Key Responsibilities Stock Ordering Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand and operational requirements. Place stock orders based on sales trends, seasonal fluctuations, and forecasted demand. Maintain optimum stock levels while minimising excess inventory. Goods In & Verification Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Accurately record stock received within the inventory management system. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies relating to deliveries.

Invoice & Supplier Management Match delivery notes with supplier invoices. Query pricing issues, shortages, damages, or incorrect deliveries. Liaise with suppliers to ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly. Inventory Control Monitor stock levels and stock movements across the depot. Manage best-before dates and stock rotation processes. Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and help minimise write-offs. Conduct regular stock checks and support stock audits.

Ensure high levels of stock accuracy are maintained at all times. Ideal Candidate Previous experience in a Stock Controller, Inventory Controller, Stock Administrator, or Warehouse Administration role. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience working with stock control or warehouse management systems. Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Able to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with suppliers and internal departments.

Experience with in a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
