The Opportunity
A leading and well-established construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team based in the Dungannon area.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected business delivering a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education and infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland and beyond. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial delivery of projects while working within a collaborative and supportive environment that offers genuine career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects from inception through to final account.
- Negotiate and appoint subcontractors, ensuring best value and commercial compliance.
- Administer subcontract packages, including valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Lead all commercial matters with clients, maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment and cost variations.
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports and monitor project budgets.
- Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and quality standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Around 10 years' post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Previous experience working on residential and commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of tendering, estimating, cost control and managing project variations.
- Experience working with standard forms of construction contracts such as JCT, NEC or similar.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial software.
- A full UK driving licence.
