Job Title: Senior PLC Engineer

Description: We are hiring for our client, a leading engineering company, seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior PLC Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control software for bespoke industrial systems, driving performance, reliability, and innovation across automation platforms. As a Senior PLC Engineer, you will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate PLCs into complex control architectures, including HMI interfaces.

Your technical expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment meets the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance.

The Role:

• Design, program, configure, and implement software in PLC systems to automate industrial systems to meet operational needs.
• Debug, test, and validate control logic to ensure performance standards are met.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate PLCs into broader control system architecture and HMI interfaces.
• Analyze and optimize existing control logic to improve system efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Manage system backups, maintain version control, and implement safety interlocks to safeguard against system failures.
• Ensure compliance with global safety standards and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and I/O configurations.

The Person:

• Strong experience in PLC programming and system integration.
• Knowledge of HMI interfaces and automation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and ensure system reliability and performance.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety interlocks, version control, and system backup procedures.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, team-focused environment.
