Design Engineer

Hays Engineering are working in partnership with a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon. Due to continued expansion and investment, our client is seeking to appoint a Junior Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. Your new role

As a Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of bespoke products and systems. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you will be involved in the full design lifecycle from concept through to production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using Solid Works
• Assisting in the design and development of new and existing products
• Supporting prototype development, testing, and design modifications
• Liaising with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency
• Maintaining accurate design documentation and BOMs
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
• Proven experience (placement or industry) using Solid Works - essential
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
