Design Engineer

Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and innovative manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer supplying specialist equipment to customers across the UK, Ireland and international markets. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will play a key role in the design and development of bespoke mechanical products from concept through to manufacture.

The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the full design lifecycle, working closely with production, procurement and other engineering functions to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works Designing bespoke mechanical equipment and fabricated assemblies Producing detailed BOMs and engineering documentation Supporting projects from concept design through to production release Liaising with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective Assisting with product improvements and continuous improvement initiatives Supporting prototype builds, testing and product development activities What We're Looking For Strong experience using Solid Works (Essential) HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering Experience designing mechanical components, machinery or fabricated assemblies Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining and assembly Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and BOMs Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills What's on Offer?
