Multiskilled Engineer

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing organisation on the appointment of a Mechanical Engineer. What's in it for you:

You will provide hands-on mechanical support, diagnose faults and contribute to continuous improvement across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Mechanical Engineer looking to join an established manufacturing business with a strong focus on reliability, safety and production performance.

In your new role:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production equipment and machinery Complete hands-on mechanical repairs, welding and fabrication as required Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise production downtime Work with mechanical drive systems, hydraulics and pneumatics Re-engineer and modify equipment to improve reliability, efficiency and performance Provide technical support and advice to production teams Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in line with company procedures Respond effectively to breakdowns and prioritise repairs based on production requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with Health & Safety requirements Work collaboratively with the wider Engineering and Production teams to maintain high levels of plant availability Take ownership of maintenance issues and use strong problem-solving skills to identify effective solutions What you will need to succeed:
Time-served Mechanical Engineer with relevant industrial experience NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline Strong mechanical aptitude and proven problem-solving ability Experience carrying out mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong experience in welding and fabrication Experience working with mechanical drive systems Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and fault-finding techniques Ability to make confident decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision Strong communication and organisational skills For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Laheen, on the Engineering Desk, today.
