Electrical Engineer - Dungannon
Salary: £57,963 including shift (continental shift)
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing organisation on the appointment of an Electrical Engineer in Dungannon .
Reporting to the Chargehand and Engineering Coordinators, you will work closely with Production to ensure site machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably. This is a hands-on role suited to a time-served Electrical Engineer with strong industrial experience and a background in automated manufacturing environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to develop their career within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to automated machinery and continuous improvement.
In your new role:
- Carry out electrical installation work across both single and three-phase systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on PLC-controlled and automated machinery
- Carry out fault finding and maintenance on single and three-phase motors
- Complete planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
- Accurately complete maintenance documentation and relevant records
- Read, interpret and work from electrical drawings and schematics
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment
- Assist with re-engineering and equipment improvement projects where required
- Carry out scale calibration and general electrical maintenance
- Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and minimise disruption to production
- Provide technical support and guidance to Production teams when required
- Work closely with Engineering colleagues to identify recurring faults and improve equipment reliability
- Ensure all maintenance and electrical activities are completed in line with Health & Safety requirements
- Support the smooth and efficient running of production machinery across the site
What you will need to succeed:
- Time-served Electrician / Electrical Engineer
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
- Proven industrial electrical experience
- Strong fault-finding experience on automated and PLC-controlled machinery
- Experience working with single and three-phase motors
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Strong electrical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good reasoning and decision-making ability
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with Production and Engineering teams
