Management Accountant

Overview

We are representing a local Engineering Distribution and Manufacturing business that have been established for over 20 years. We are seeking a commercially driven Management Accountant to take ownership of a new standalone finance role. This is a high-impact position for someone confident, analytical, and strong-willed, with a proven ability to cut costs, challenge inefficiencies, and improve profitability. You will have the backing of the business owners and the opportunity to build a finance team as the company grows further.

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis
• Identify overspending, inefficiencies, and margin improvement opportunities
• Drive cost reduction and profitability initiatives across operations
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Improve financial controls, reporting accuracy, and processes
• Analyse product, customer, and operational profitability
• Provide commercial insight to support pricing, purchasing, and investment decisions
• Develop and scale the finance function over time

• Qualified (Preferred) or part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
• Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Distribution preferred
• Strong in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
• Confident, resilient, and comfortable challenging spending and decision-making
• Able to build systems, processes, and structure from scratch
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
