Maintenance Officer (Public Sector)

We are seeking a Maintenance Officer for a 3-month contract (with possibility of extension) primarily based at the Dungannon site.

• Carry out inspections of properties on a set timetable to authorise contractors to carry out necessary maintenance work.
• Conduct inspections to ensure works are of acceptable standard and payment can be authorised.
• Advise tenants of maintenance policies and responsibilities for maintaining some items in their homes and provide information on progress and time frames of works.
• Identify deficiencies in delivery of maintenance service and bring them to the attention of the contractor for remedial action.
• Liaise with other staff, particularly those involved in allocation of homes, to ensure houses vacated during tenancy changes have necessary works done so they can be re-let quickly.

• A degree or higher diploma in Building Studies (or equivalent) with at least one year of relevant experience.
• A minimum of four years relevant experience.
• Relevant experience includes working on the design, improvement or maintenance of domestic properties.

Hourly rate ranges from £16.90 to £18.85, plus discount benefits.
