THE EMPLOYER IS: LAGAN ENGINEERING LTDThe successful candidate will be responsible for preparing metal and engineered components for painting and coating, ensuring surfaces meet quality, safety, and specification standards prior to finishing.
Responsibilities- Prepare engineered components and fabricated parts for painting and coating.
- Clean, degrease, sand, blast, or abrade surfaces to required specifications.
- Mask areas not to be painted according to drawings and instructions.
- Apply primers or pre-treatment coatings where required.
- Inspect surfaces for defects and carry out remedial preparation work.
- Handle and store materials, chemicals, and tools safely.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Follow engineering drawings, job cards, and process instructions.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Support painters and finishers to ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
- Able to be consistent.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of paint systems.
- Understanding common paint defects and how prep affects them.
