Yard Operative

Location: Derry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

Hours: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 15:30 Friday and every other Saturday morning 08:00-12:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Serving customers face to face, providing the highest possible service and care.
• Preparing orders for collection & delivery and ensuring sales documentation is completed.
• Maintaining stock levels.
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift truck (training provided).
• Ensuring goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location.
• Being responsible for personal and workplace health and safety and observe regulations in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act (PPE provided).
• Performing other duties as may be deemed necessary to ensure business objectives are met.

Required

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience working in a similar role and environment.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, customer advice.
• Understanding of timber and general building products.
• Methodical, with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Good communication skills and a team player.
• Experience driving 3.5t vans and FLTs would be extremely beneficial.
