We are looking for an organised and motivated Sales Administrator to join a busy engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous administration or customer service experience within a manufacturing environment who enjoys working in a fast-paced team.
Working closely with the Production Planner and other internal departments, you will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are processed efficiently while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the sales and production planning functions.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately process customer orders and ensure all information is entered correctly.
- Produce quotations, invoices and other sales documentation.
- Maintain and update customer records using internal systems.
- Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner via telephone and email.
- Liaise with production, logistics and finance teams to ensure orders are delivered on schedule.
- Monitor customer orders from receipt through to dispatch, providing regular progress updates.
- Support the sales team by preparing reports and assisting with administrative tasks.
- Resolve customer queries and issues promptly, escalating where necessary.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
The successful applicant will have:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- At least one year's experience in a Sales Administration or Customer Service role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Experience using MRP or ERP systems.
- Previous experience working with CRM software.
- A good understanding of manufacturing processes and customer service expectations.
