Sales Ledger Officer

Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an established Engineering Business to recruit an experienced, hands-on & personable Sales Ledger Officer on a permanent basis to join their close-knit accounting team in Swindon, Wiltshire. The position will take control of all sales ledger processes for the business, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. The role will use MS Excel with various financial systems.

Sales ledger experience is essential to be considered for this role. Your new role Your key duties will include processing sales orders via Excel, processing sales invoices and credit notes, along with customer orders.

You will ensure outstanding sales orders are chased weekly, support sales ledger reporting, along with identifying all sales order discrepancies. You will identify/resolve all customer account queries, develop a detailed understanding of the customer base, maintain aged debtors monthly, and work closely with operational management to support a smooth sales ledger process. You will maintain customer purchase orders data, along with supporting the Finance Manager in ad-hoc accounting duties when required.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this permanent Sales Ledger Officer role, you will need experience in a similar position, strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of financial systems. You will have key communication skills to build both internal/external relationships, strong attention to detail, and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. You will be adaptable to business needs, willing to learn, have key problem-solving abilities, along with being a team player who can use their own initiative.

Experience with in the engineering/manufacturing sectors and working for a small/medium-sized business would be advantageous but not essential. What you'll get in return This permanent Sales Ledger Officer role offers a salary between £30,000 - £33,500 per annum, dependable on experience based in Swindon, Wiltshire.
