Job Summary Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a Transport Planner to join our team. This role will involve planning, coordinating and monitoring the movement of goods and materials to ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently, safely and on time. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transport operations, including driver and vehicle planning, route efficiency, customer requirements and day-to-day problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and a good understanding of logistics, transport compliance and supply chain operations. Shift Pattern Full-time evening shift.
Key Responsibilities Effectively manage drivers throughout the shift, ensuring they have the information, support and direction needed to complete deliveries and collections safely and efficiently. Plan and manage driver and vehicle schedules to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed in line with customer requirements, operational priorities and legal compliance obligations. Respond quickly to operational issues such as delays, vehicle availability, route changes or customer queries, using sound judgement to resolve problems and minimise disruption.
Ensure all transport operations are carried out with the highest regard for legal, environmental, health and safety, and company policy requirements. Requirements Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or a similar transport operations role. Knowledge of tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive requirements. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with customers, drivers and third parties.
Excellent communication and organisation skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while managing competing priorities. Benefits Competitive salary. Pension.
