Role Overview To manage the day-to-day operation of the stores function, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control and distribution of stock. To maintain accurate inventory records, lead the stores team, and ensure stock is available to support business operations while maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment. The role will also support the ongoing development of store processes, including contributing to ERP system implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities Manage the daily operation of the stores department, ensuring all goods are received, stored and issued efficiently. Supervise and support the stores team, allocating workloads and monitoring performance. Ensure all goods received are checked against delivery notes for accuracy, quality and damage. Investigate and report any shortages, discrepancies or damaged goods to the relevant department and suppliers where required.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock movements are correctly recorded within the company's ERP and inventory management systems. Plan and oversee regular stock counts and annual stocktakes, investigating and resolving variances. Monitor stock levels and work with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment and Support the implementation, optimisation and ongoing development of the company's ERP system, ensuring accurate data management and effective team adoption.
Train, coach and develop stores personnel, promoting high standards of performance and continuous improvement. Essential criteria Previous experience managing a warehouse or stores environment. Strong leadership and people management skills. Previous experience using ERP systems, with confidence in supporting ERP implementation projects, driving process improvements, ensuring data accuracy, and leading team adoption of new systems and procedures. Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Good understanding of inventory control and stock management systems. PC literate with strong administration and reporting skills. What you will receive:
