The PAE(A) Capability Acquisition Department advances program execution by developing a data and modeling continuum across disciplines and the lifecycle; including methods, standards, and capability acquisition lifecycle strategies. This Department equips programs with integrated environments that enable dynamic program health status and management, synchronized technical management, continuous assessment, and drives rapid software delivery via open architectures and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) to outpace evolving threats.
This Department ensures leading acquisition program demand signals are properly informed by the latest methods and are enabled with training, environments, and contracting. Further, this Department designs flexible contractual structures for the on-time delivery of certifiable, mission-capable systems and builds a shared digital ecosystem to ensure secure, data-driven collaboration between government and industry partners.
The Capability Acquisition Department requires Senior Engineering expertise to provide direct support to guide execution of Major Upgrade and Born Digital Acquisition Full Lifecycle Strategies.
The Senior Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for applying advanced engineering principles and systems engineering expertise to support the acquisition, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of military weapons systems and associated support systems. The individual will work with minimal supervision, lead complex technical efforts, and provide strategic engineering guidance across the acquisition lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead the execution of complex engineering and acquisition tasks with minimal guidance.
- Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate military weapons systems and supporting capabilities.
- Support Major Upgrade and Born Digital Acquisition strategies across the full acquisition lifecycle.
- Develop and review engineering analyses, technical reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Apply systems engineering practices to system integration, configuration management, quality assurance, verification and validation activities.
- Support acquisition planning, resource management, and technical management functions.
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate software, software components, and systems supporting military weapons systems and related mission capabilities.
