Trainee Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Salary up to £30,000 | Full-time | 8am-5pm

This is a good opportunity to start or develop a career as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with a construction company in Dunstable. The role is open to school leavers, trainees and candidates who already have some experience in estimating or quantity surveying.

Working with the estimating and commercial team, you will learn how construction projects are priced and managed from the first enquiry through to completion. Projects include education, commercial fit-out, refurbishment and healthcare schemes valued from £1m to £10m.

• Assist with construction estimates, tenders and quotations
• Take measurements from drawings and specifications
• Obtain prices from subcontractors and suppliers
• Compare quotations and check costs
• Assist with cost control, valuations and commercial reports
• Visit sites when required and work with the wider project team

• A school leaver looking for a first job in construction estimating or quantity surveying
• A trainee or junior candidate with some estimating or quantity surveying experience
• Someone interested in construction costs, drawings and how projects are put together

• Salary up to £30,000, depending on experience
