The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group.
- Teaching & Learning Delivery – Deliver engaging, up-to-date sessions that develop students’ life skills and vocational knowledge, supported by effective planning, differentiated activities, and constructive feedback.
- Curriculum & Student Support – Contribute to curriculum development, organise work experience, extracurricular activities, and provide pastoral support to help students achieve success and progression.
- Assessment & Administration – Set and mark assignments, maintain accurate records of learner progress, complete course admin duties, and liaise with awarding bodies and external partners as needed.
- Professional Conduct & Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues and community organisations, attend meetings and events, promote equality and diversity, and safeguard learners in line with college policies.
- Qualifications & Development – Hold or be willing to work towards teaching and assessor qualifications, maintain Level 2 English and Maths, and engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.
- Qualifications & Industry Expertise – Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, Level 2 in English and Maths, Assessor Award (or willingness to achieve), and up-to-date vocational skills backed by industry experience.
- Teaching & Learning Skills – Ability to teach across vocational areas and learner levels using varied approaches, incorporating the latest technology and health & safety practices.
- Quality & Communication – Strong understanding of industry quality assurance systems, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to inspire and motivate learners.
- Professionalism & Development – Committed to continuous professional development, reflective practice, and maintaining current knowledge in your field of specialism.
- Safeguarding & Flexibility – Dedicated to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, and flexible to work across locations and schedules as required by Bedford College.
