8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the Dunstable area, supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school is looking for a committed individual who can provide a calm, consistent and supportive presence throughout the school day.

This position would suit someone who understands that working with pupils with SEMH needs requires patience, resilience, consistency and strong relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their academic and personal development.
  • Assist children with accessing the curriculum.
  • Provide classroom and individual support as required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and appropriate boundaries.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation.
  • Help children develop their independence and confidence.
  • Establish positive and professional relationships with pupils.
  • Provide reassurance and consistency during challenging situations.
  • Work effectively alongside teachers and other members of the school team.
  • Contribute towards a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements

Experience with in SEMH, SEN, education, care, youth work or a similar setting would be advantageous, although candidates without direct experience will also be considered.

  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Candidates must be safeguarding literate and able to successfully complete all necessary pre-employment and vetting checks.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, full-time only.
