Technology Engineer – Roadside Technology

Our client, Ringway, a trusted provider of highways services to the public sector, is seeking a skilled and proactive Technology Engineer – Roadside Technology. In this role, you will carry out installation, maintenance, and commissioning of roadside technology equipment, supporting the smooth operation of the highways network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of roadside technology equipment.
- Undertake software, hardware, and systems testing to ensure equipment functionality and reliability.
- Support the Assistant Project Manager in planning and delivering projects, including assisting with budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Supervise operational teams and subcontractors on site to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures, producing required documentation.
- Complete accurate and timely reporting from all systems, achieving KPIs in line with annual objectives.
- Work proactively to identify and implement operational improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
- Proven experience in installation or maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment.
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Familiarity with HERS registration and requirements.
- Willingness to work in roadside environments, at heights, and during night shifts when required.
- Strong understanding of roadside technology, including CCTV, ANPR, MIDAS, AMI, message signs, environmental sensors, traffic monitoring/control systems, electrical supplies, and networking (IP, LAN, WAN, Routing, etc.).
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Word, Excel).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
