Project Engineer; Water​/Commissioning

Project Engineer (Water / Commissioning) £70,000-£85,000  Progression  Training  Hybrid Working  Car Allowance  Bonus  Company Benefits Chelmsford Are you a Project / Commissioning Engineer or similar from a Water industry background looking for a technical role offering full autonomy to oversee specialist projects for a varied client base of primarily blue-chip clients within a tight-knit, growing consultancy offering the chance to progress to leadership roles?

This growing consultancy is supporting a large volume of work across the Thames Water framework and is looking for someone who can add real value across multiple live schemes. With over 20 projects in motion and a tight-knit team, they need engineers who can take ownership, challenge designs, and ensure projects are delivered properly. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of projects from early design input through to commissioning and handover.

You'll be trusted to manage your own workload, lead meetings, produce high-quality documentation, and ensure work on site is delivered safely and to standard. This role would suit someone who is confident in their ability, comfortable being client-facing, and looking to step into a position where they can influence delivery and help shape a growing team.

The Role:

* Head up numerous projects simultaneously, working through the entire project lifecycle
* Develop commissioning plans, procedures and checklists, leading installation and commissioning activities onsite
* Liaise with construction and water operations teams, contractors and clients to coordinate works, outages and commissioning activities
* Lead meetings, review designs and documentation, fault find ICA systems including PLCs and control panels, and mentor junior team members

The Person :
* Project / Commissioning Engineer, ICA Engineer or similar with proven Water industry experience
* Experience with ICA systems, including PLCs, local control panels and communication systems, with the ability to fault find and configure systems
* Full and clean driving licence, willing to work hybrid, travel to various sites
* Commutable to Chelmsford Reference: BBBH
