Finance Manager

The Role Responsible for the Group finance function. Reporting to the Managing Director, covering all aspects financial reporting, management accounts, cash flow through to budgeting, forecasting, controls & statutory compliance, and payroll reporting. Responsible for leading, supporting and mentoring the Assistant Management Accountant and Finance Apprentice. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Group finance function Providing clear financial analysis and commentary to the Board Monitoring business performance against budgets, forecasts and key financial indicators Provision of Management Information and reports as required by the business Investigation and explanation of key variances and identification of potential areas of risk Completion of the monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis Detailed Profitability Analysis by income stream Overseeing the sales ledger including invoice/payment processing Overseeing the purchase ordering process and general bookkeeping Completion of VAT Returns and other relevant financial submissions Overseeing payroll and pension processes and reporting, applying any tax code changes, any attachment of earnings orders, FPS Submission, sending of colleague payslips and P45's Provision of KPI/management information and analysis as required on a weekly, monthly, annual and periodic basis, and any financial modelling as required Challenging expenditure and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency Managing, supporting and developing the Assistant Management Accountant & Finance Apprentice Experience

Required:

An experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller Qualified Management Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with experience across a full range of financial and management accounting activities Strong written and verbal communication skills Reliable, professional and discreet Exemplary attention to detail and strong organisational skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications and Excel Ability to problem solve
