The Transport Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the business remains compliant with our O Licence commitments and responsibilities, whilst also demonstrating this to the site Transport Health & Safety Manager on a daily and weekly basis through KPIs and system measures.

They are also responsible for ensuring all delivery activities are completed in a safe environment, and that processes and procedures are robust to ensure the wellbeing of our colleagues. To work effectively with Health & Safety, Distribution, Transport Planning, Retail Operations,HO teams and Suppliers in maintaining a safe environment.

To work with the relevant Driver Agencies and Maintenance providers to proactively build good working relationships and ensure ASW requirements are always met.

Reporting to the Health & Safety and Transport Managers, the role will work to an agreed set of KPIs to deliver agreed O‑Licence compliance and safety targets.

• Fleet maintenance planning, administration and auditing of systems.
• Managing transport compliance system & processes.
• Managing compliance of driver’s hours and WTD for both ASW & Agency Staff.
• Completing weekly and monthly audits relating to transport compliance.
• Administration and record keeping of training requirements.
• Working alongside the Transport H&S Manager and Driver Trainers to update and maintain the DPRA system.
• Transport specific Behavioural Observations, including checking Drivers Walk around Checks and Gate Checks.
• Review & validate all training materials, ensuring ASW standards are maintained and training mitigates potential risks.
• Oversee weekly SOP reporting to ensure all team members have completed required training modules.
• Assist with ensuring that incident investigation packs are reviewed and dealt with in a timely manner, liaising with the relevant Team Leaders to capture all information.
• Holding investigation meetings & disciplinary hearings in relation to Transport H&S and Compliance incidents.
• Compile and send a weekly Transport Compliance report to senior stakeholders.
