Subcontractor Manager

Location: Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire

Hours: Full-time, 8am5pm Monday Friday + 1 weekend day in 4 (Saturday or Sunday)

Type: Permanent

This is an office-based role no remote working.

We are looking for an experienced Subcontractor Manager to take ownership of recruiting, onboarding, and managing both new and existing subcontractors. This is a pivotal role in ensuring a strong pipeline of skilled resources and maintaining high performance standards across our subcontractor network.

The Role

You will be responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing subcontractors to support our planned works and void refurbishment projects. From ensuring compliance to maintaining quality standards, you will be the key link between subcontractors, our contracts team, and site managers.



Key Responsibilities

• Proactively source and recruit skilled subcontractors
• Manage the onboarding process, ensuring full compliance
• Liaise with Contract and Site Managers to monitor performance, KPIs, and quality
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
• Oversee risk management, cost control, and value management
• Promote and uphold quality standards and Health & Safety requirements

• 23+ years experience in a similar subcontractor management role
• Experience working with housing associations or local authorities
• Strong understanding of SOR codes
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident communicator with strong literacy skills and people management ability
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
• IT literate and comfortable using multiple systems
