Car Sales Manager

We are representing a reputable automotive dealership in Dunstable, seeking an experienced sales professional to join as a Car Sales Manager. This pivotal role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to lead a high-performing sales team, optimise used vehicle sales, and enhance overall dealership profitability. The successful individual will be responsible for managing the daily sales operations, with a focus on increasing used car volume, improving margins, and maintaining strong new vehicle performance.

• Basic salary up to 45,000
• OTE up to 60,000

Duties of the Car Sales Manager:

• Drive used vehicle sales, profit, and stock turn
• Manage stock levels, pricing strategies, vehicle presentation, and preparation standards
• Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to meet and exceed targets
• Maintain a consistent sales process from enquiry to handover
• Monitor and improve enquiry handling, follow-up, and sales conversion
• Promote finance penetration, product sales, and overall deal profitability
• Ensure all sales activities are compliant and meet company standards
• Collaborate with senior management on stock strategy and commercial performance
• Maintain strong new vehicle sales performance in line with manufacturer standards
• Monitor departmental KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed
• Foster a positive, professional, and results-focused showroom environment

Requirements of the Car Sales Manager:

• Proven experience managing a vehicle sales team within a dealership environment
• Strong understanding of used car sales, stock management, and margin enhancement
• Excellent commercial and financial awareness
• Track record of achieving KPIs and sales targets
• Leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate teams
• Structured, process-driven approach to work
• Confidence to make commercially focused decisions as the Car Sales Manager
• Passion for the automotive industry and delivering outstanding customer service
• Flexibility to work rota shifts, including weekends, as weekend flexibility is essential due to potential changes in operating hours
