We are seeking a Psychiatrist who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate psychiatric care.
Position OverviewThe Psychiatrist plays a vital clinical leadership role at SLOW and works under the supervision of the CEO. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, stabilization, and psychiatric well-being of clients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medications
- Provide ongoing psychiatric care for clients with a range of mental health disorders
- Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to support symptom management and recovery
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Provide crisis intervention and psychiatric support during acute episodes
- Support clients with developmental disabilities and other special needs
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff using appropriate medical terminology
- Proficient in diagnosing and treating conditions including:
- PTSD
- Anxiety disorders
- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Strong skills in crisis management and stabilization
- Experience developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs
- Knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices and therapies
- Ability to function effectively in fast-paced, treatment-focused environments
- MD or DO from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia (
required
) - Post-residency experience in psychiatry
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferred
- Experience in hospital or behavioral health treatment settings preferred
- Strong understanding of documentation standards and regulatory compliance
- Current CPR certification
- Clear background check (no felony or substance abuse convictions within the past five years)
