Job Description

Guest Service Representatives consistently deliver outstanding customer service to each guest, ensuring the highest standards are upheld and guest expectations are exceeded through check‑in and check‑out, in‑person service throughout their stay, and telephone communications. The role requires a proactive, friendly, and responsive approach to guest requests, serving as the communication hub for guests, employees, vendors, and external partners. Clerical duties include basic computer work, reception, and simple accounting tasks.

  • Complete all required training.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and brand standards.
  • Perform any duties requested by management to improve hotel operations and guest service.
  • Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel systems: PBX phone, key‑card, PMS reservation, and general office machines.
  • Complete tasks outlined on the shift check‑list.
  • Know and execute fire alarm and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Check guest account credit daily and follow up when action is needed.
  • Be familiar with the surrounding area to assist guests.
  • Ensure the security of guests, employees, and hotel assets.
  • Keep the cash drawer secure and balanced throughout the shift.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure a steady supply of clean rooms.
  • Sell and upsell rooms to walk‑ins and phone reservations.
  • Have basic knowledge of housekeeping tasks such as bed making and vacuuming.
  • Strive for 100% occupancy and 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Exhibit professional telephone and communication skills.
  • Show patience and understanding toward everyone encountered.
Necessary Skills
  • Maintain confidentiality of business functions, financial status, and guest information.
  • Ensure security of guests, employees, and hotel assets.
  • Know fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
  • Be able to report to scheduled shifts.
  • Communicate effectively in writing, by telephone, and in person.
  • Work a flexible schedule.
  • Be organized, honest, and collaborative.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive work area and uniform.
  • Exhibit integrity and humility, living by the Golden Rule.
  • Work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Be dedicated, innovative, respectful, service‑oriented, and community‑focused.
  • Lift, bend, kneel, push, and stretch (up to 25 lbs) as required.
  • Operate for 8 hours in a restrictive space or environment.
  • Have adequate vision for near and far tasks.
  • Handle work under pressure and maintain finger dexterity for computer equipment.
  • Understand PMS system operations with minimal supervision.
  • Speak clearly, hear at a basic level, and understand English.
