Position OverviewThe Nurse Manager provides leadership for a team of nurses and nurse support staff. This includes establishing a professional relationship, helping to resolve clinical and administrative issues as they arise, giving feedback on performance and facilitating an atmosphere in which excellence in client care is provided. The Nurse Manager also provides clinical care to clients.
Schedule- Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
- Some evenings and overnights as needed to support night shift staff
- On-call rotation as assigned
- In Person
- Coach and mentor nursing staff at the site and ensure accuracy and quality of care are provided
- Have performance conversations with direct reports and assist in the creation of appropriate development plans for staff as needed
- Ensure proper training of all new nurses
- Train Lead Nurses on managerial responsibilities and tasks
- Collaborate with the BHT Manager and Site/Executive Director on day- to- day nursing staffing issues and unfilled shifts and site needs
- Assist medical and psychiatric providers with information regarding examinations, tests, procedures, and care
- Provide behavioral support and crisis prevention and management
- Collaborate with site leadership regarding milieu management
- Capability to work in staffing as needed (may provide extra support for the scheduled team and/or be asked to work the floor during staffing gaps)
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Site/Executive Director
- Licensed as an RN in the state of employment (can include interstate compact agreements)
- Must have leadership and/or management experience
- 2 or more years of experience, preferred
