Dishwasher
Hours:
07:00 am – 03:00 pm or 11:00 am – 07:00 pm. Various shift schedules available.
This position ensures that all sanitation requirements for the kitchen are met and that a safe and professional culinary experience is provided to patients, families and staff.
Major Accountabilities- Complete daily tasks assigned by the Chef or Sous Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen surfaces, dining and catering areas, and associated equipment.
- Wash dishes and maintain overall area cleanliness to meet Food Code requirements.
- Daily sweeping, mopping, cleaning and sanitizing of floors and equipment.
- Maintain order and organization of the dish room, kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist the Chef or Sous Chef with food preparation activities such as chopping, peeling and washing as directed.
- Assist other kitchen staff with proper food and supply dating, labeling and stocking.
- Ensure attendance and punctuality for assigned shifts.
- Complete all assignments from Learning and Development and review of policies and procedures within assigned time-frames.
- Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries with patients and families, including HIPAA compliance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by direct or indirect management.
- Strong understanding of sanitation and safety requirements in a hospital kitchen.
- Ability to follow instructions exactly as relayed.
- Dependable and detail-oriented.
- Effective communication at all levels with peers, managers, patients and families.
- Good judgment regarding interpersonal interactions with peers, managers, patients and families.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office software.
- “Can Do” mentality that collaborates with others and removes barriers to efficiency.
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish (preferred).
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Competency and sensitivity in multicultural and diversity issues.
- Professional, neat and clean appearance.

- Identification while on duty.
- Positive and professional representation of the organization.
