Assistant Wrestling Coach, Escalante Middle School

Overview

Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Assistant Wrestling Coach at Escalante Middle School. This position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and
8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of wrestling. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League; the season runs late January 2026 through Mid March 2026.

• Fundamental knowledge of wrestling
• Experience working with school-aged athletes
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
• Plan and organize practices
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
• Provide feedback to help players improve
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
• Assist head coach in other duties
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
