Position: Long Term Substitute - Math Teacher Durango High School, Fall Semester

Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a Long Term Substitute Math Teacher at Durango High School for the Fall Semester of the 2025/26 school year. A Colorado substitute authorization or teaching license is required. A Colorado teaching license with a Math endorsement or demonstrated proficiency in grades 9-10 math is preferred. The substitute assignment begins on August 11, 2025.

The daily rate for long-term substitutes is $265.

Requirements include:

Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license. A 3- or 5-year Colorado substitute authorization may also be accepted for candidates with demonstrated Math proficiency as outlined above. Contact the Colorado Department of Education at to apply for a substitute or teaching license.

Experience working with students in a classroom setting is strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, along with basic language, math, and writing skills.

A minimum of two professional or academic references (family/friends are not considered professional or academic references).
