Engineering Manager – Mechanical & Additive Engineering
Agile Space Industries is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment. The role is part of the Product Engineering team and involves building an inclusive, world‑class engineering team, fostering a collaborative culture, and leading the development of internal tools, technology, and processes that support complex space‑flight hardware and ground‑support equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead team management efforts including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and engagement.
- Foster open and effective communication within the functional team, across organizational groups, and with senior leadership.
- Manage and allocate resources across projects and initiatives.
- Track team performance and productivity through metrics and feedback.
- Establish and maintain functional and technology capabilities for Mechanical and Additive Engineering.
- Develop and improve engineering processes to support consistent execution, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to cost, schedule, and technical content for bids and proposals.
- Define work packages and provide oversight for deliverables and technical outputs.
- Assist program management with team organization, resource demands, and project execution.
- Coordinate closely with peers across organizational groups to support issue resolution.
- Conduct hands‑on project execution as part of product development teams.
- B.S. or advanced degree in engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of product development experience.
- 5+ years of project leadership and/or organizational team leadership.
- Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and growing engineering talent.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑informed approach.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills across diverse audiences.
- Multi‑disciplined leadership, confident in navigating ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and configuration management practices.
- US citizen or permanent resident.
- Ability to work onsite in Durango, Colorado.
- Experience with mechanical design, laser powder bed fusion techniques, and material/process principles.
- Experience generating content for and presenting at technical gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, etc).
- Experience with chemical propulsion systems and associated components.
- Leadership experience in fast‑growing technical organizations.
- Experience with GD&T standards.
- Experience with design for additive manufacturing.
- Experience with Solid Works and part drawing standards.
- Familiarity with laser powder bed fusion tools and related post‑processes.
- Familiarity with NASA and other industry standards.
- Familiarity with business development processes.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Employment TypeExempt – Full Time
SalaryExpected annual range: $110,600 – $165,900.
Work ScheduleFull Time.
Workplace TypeOnsite – Durango, Colorado.
