Overview

Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a Behavioral Health Provider, Social Worker or Counselor to join the team at The HUB Therapeutic Program. Must hold a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) School Counselor or CDE School Social Worker license by the start date of the position. Begins October 7, 2025 or asap.

Responsibilities

Summary: Provides a full range of school-based behavioral health and therapeutic services to students engaging in The Hub Therapeutic Program to maximize student success, achievement and support the critical link between the home, The Hub program, and the home school. Responsible for providing comprehensive SEL supports and direct services primarily to students within The Hub. The Behavioral Health Provider will provide comprehensive therapeutic support to identified students, engaging in the team to connect The Hub services, community-based services and school programs.

This position will lead the implementation of evidence-based SEL, behavioral health, and trauma-informed interventions and services, as well as provide leadership in student treatment plan development and implementation.

  • 25% Provide therapeutic services as a member of the Hub team in student assessment, evaluation, educational and treatment planning, progress monitoring, and transition supports, in accordance with all applicable federal, State and local codes and regulations. Assist with the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) and Personalized Treatment and Learning Plans for program students, monitor the implementation of plans, and participate in the annual reviews.

    Enter contact notes, family services plans, periodic reviews, and other required documentation in the Trails database for Summit students.
  • 10% Complete a diagnostic social history on students referred to The Hub Therapeutic Program for the purposes of evaluation, assessment of need, and student identification.
  • 10% Maintain an on-going relationship with families for the purposes of sharing information regarding the student’s educational program, assisting the family in cooperatively improving the student’s home and school adjustment, using mediation techniques to resolve disputes, providing home management counseling, and assisting the family in utilizing appropriate community and school resources.
  • 20% Assume leadership and collaborative roles in identifying and working with students with social and emotional challenges that may interfere with effective learning through the development of program and intervention implementation and staff coaching plans for alternative programs and home-school teams. Provide structure and supervision in the Summit program milieu.
  • 20% Work with and counsel identified students to enhance their personal and social growth and increase their responsibility for behavior and attitudes. Provide opportunities and resources for students to increase academic success, improve interpersonal relationships, learn problem-solving and decision-making skills, and resolve conflicts and crisis situations. Support the development of materials for and help facilitate regularly-scheduled groups and instructional opportunities.
  • 5% Conduct home visits when appropriate, including face-to-face contact with the parents/families.
  • 2% Serve as a member of the School and District Crisis Team.
  • 5% Provide support to community-based student providers connected to alternative programs.
  • Ongoing 3% Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience

Education and Training: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.

Experience: Experience is preferred but may not be necessary for hiring.
