Starting pay is $20.00 per hour (Base $17.50 + $2.50 locale differential) and ranges up to $22.60 per hour.

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide supportive services and monitor compliance within a 24‑hour residential care unit. The technician will assist with individual care plans, adhere to policies, and may provide similar services in other locations as needed. The primary purpose for the detox position is to engage detox clients in detox‑specific therapy, monitor their progress during withdrawal, and ensure their physical stability.
Responsibilities- Provide supportive services and monitor clients in a 24‑hour residential care unit.
- Assist with developing and implementing individual care plans for program clients.
- Ensure compliance with rules, guidelines, and directives for clients.
- Engage detox clients in detox‑specific therapy and monitor for physical stability.
- Make reasonable accommodations to ensure client comfort.
- Assist in the care of clients in other locations as needed.
- Knowledge of AA/NA helpful.
- High emotional maturity and ability to maintain courtesy and decorum during adverse circumstances.
- Basic counseling skills, including listening, empathy, and appropriate responses.
- Ability to function at peak performance levels during nighttime hours if required.
- Ability to observe and describe behavior and symptoms.
- Ability to seek supervision when needed.
- Good communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Working knowledge of Windows applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
- Adherence to universal precautions and quick reporting of communicable disease exposure.
- Operation of standard office equipment (calculator, copier, fax, multi‑line telephone).
- Organizational and prioritization skills in a hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
- Current driver’s license, commercial insurance eligibility, and safe driving record.
- Occasional travel required.
- Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently walk, sit, stand, kneel, and sometimes climb, balance, stoop, or travel between Axis Health System locations. Exposure to communicable disease potential. Noise level is usually moderate.
Additional Eligibility Requirements- Annual flu immunization.
- Annual TB screening.
- CPI training within 90 days of hire.
- BLS PRO certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Active BLS, current TB result, and proof of flu vaccination required for orientation.
