Position Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant who will provide clinical and administrative support to medical and/or psychiatric providers and their patients in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for preparing for patient visits, performing assigned clinical tasks, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, performing point of care testing, assisting in minor procedures, fielding patient phone calls, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining patient care supplies.
The MA works within an integrated, multi‑disciplinary team and may be assigned to work with primary care providers, psychiatric providers, or both.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical support position in a medical or behavioral health setting.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
Starting pay is $21.50 per hour (base $19.00 + $2.50 locale differential) and ranges up to $24.64 per hour, based on preferred experience and education.

Employees must occasionally lift and/or move 15–50 pounds, walk, sit, stand, kneel, climb, balance, and stoop. Must be able to sit for longer periods at a computer, travel between locations, and occasionally be exposed to communicable disease. The noise level is usually moderate. The organization may make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Required Skills- Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic classifications, and medications.
- Completes schedule and visit preparation to anticipate provider and patient needs.
- Rooms patients and collects clinical information (medication list, allergies, concerns).
- Accurately measures and records vital signs (BP, HR, RR, height, weight).
- Communicates with patients in person and via phone, documenting interactions in the EHR.
- Assists provider with scheduling, directs patient flow, and manages room turnover.
- Accurately completes and records point‑of‑care testing.
- Administers medications and immunizations as instructed by the RN or provider.
- Cleans and disinfects exam tables, counters, equipment, and devices per infection control guidelines.
- Obtains prior authorizations for medications, supplies, tests, or referrals.
- Assembles equipment and prepares trays for minor procedures.
- Communicates diagnostic and laboratory results to patients as directed.
- Provides patient education as instructed by the provider.
- Facilitates tele‑health visits for patients at home or in clinic.
Annual flu immunization, annual TB screening, CPI training within 90 days of hire, and BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
