Registered Nurse, PCU - Nights

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Department manager or Supervisor, this position evaluates, plans, organizes and evaluates all facets of patient care for the assigned unit or units.

Reports to:

Director, Inpatient Services.

Hourly Rate: $34.14–$54.00 (not including overtime or bonuses).

Essential Functions:

Reuses the nursing process to deliver quality patient care per established standards, including planning, implementing, assessing and adjusting the care plan, as well as discharge planning per expected outcomes.

• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients.
• Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents per policy.
• Completes nursing assessment within reliable windows for the patient condition.
• Develops patient care plan with problems, goals, reviews and actions.
• Relays symptoms and notable changes in patient status to proper staff and timely.
• Assesses, collaborates and coordinates patient discharge preparation and readiness with other team members.
• Shows competence in age‑specific standards, policies, procedures and guidelines while caring for children, adolescents, adults and seniors.
• Collaborates and works with doctors and other team members in formal and informal teaching of patient and family about disease, recovery plan and discharge planning.
• Provides awareness and relevance of nursing research. Evaluates practice to spot areas for develop or research opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Graduation of an accredited nursing school. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Certification, License:
Current RN license in the state (reg). Current CPR, ACLS, PALS or TNCC certs per policy.

Experience, Training, Knowledge:
Prior RN experience in a related care area preferred.

Physical:
Requires lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs; stooping, kneeling, crouching; standing, walking >5 hrs; vision to detect IV infiltration, infection, discrimination of skin color variations, reading telemetry, AB, and other diagnostic instruments; hearing to detect abnormal sounds, fluid mechanical noises; listen to body sounds; safety equipment must be worn.

Workplace exposure/Gear:
Chemical hazards (chem, needles, sharps, blood, body fluids, contagious disease, medical waste, radiation, safety gear may be required.

This position not eligible for remote work.

• HepB –Lab proof of immunity or 3 doses of Hep B series.

• Varicella (chickenpox) –Lab proof of immunity (vaccine or serum).
